About the workshop:
Dr. Francesca shall open the workshop with a schematic introduction to her unorthodox view of Nietzsche’s position in the history of ideas. She shall then focus on three short Nietzsche passages – one from Nietzsche’s The Joyful Science, one from Thus Spake Zarathustra, and one from Twilight of the Idols – with a view to correcting the persistent misreadings of the first passage and introducing the grossly misunderstood figure of the “Superman”.

Dr. Francesca Cauchi:
Is a veteran Nietzsche scholar, having spent a quarter of a century unraveling the complexities and contradictions in Nietzsche’s Thus Spake Zarathustra. She is also a Romanticist with published work on William Blake, William Wordsworth, and Percy Bysshe Shelley. Her love of rich and vibrant cultures has dictated her unconventional career path, which has taken her to universities in Lebanon, China, Chile, Malaysia, Northern Cyprus, Iraqi Kurdistan, and Palestine.
