The French Institute of Jerusalem aims to contribute to the development of the French language and cultures as well as those of the host countries. It has two Institutes in Jerusalem: Romain Gary and Chateaubriand. In Palestine, the cultural network is dense and includes 2 other institutes: Ramallah where the French Institute works with its German colleague, the Goethe Institute, and Gaza. Last but not least, the French Alliance of Bethlehem, the Hebron-France Cultural Exchange Association and the Multipurpose Community Resources Center Association of Nablus are privileged partners. The Institute is a player in the local cultural life to which it contributes, by promoting exchanges with France and by promoting the creators and their mobility.
French classes are at the heart of the network's activity. The Institutes are places of conviviality where it is nice to meet, exchange and enjoy the resources of media libraries. Exhibitions, lectures, film screenings and concerts are regularly organised in and out of the walls.
Educational and cultural workshops are organised for children, young and adults. Finally, fully integrated into the urban fabric, the Institutes rely on partnerships with renowned local institutions, thus promoting the development of a "culture for all".
